No news is no news

I have been waiting to post because we have been eagerly awaiting wonderful news that many of our JOH friends have received their referrals after our facilitator's trip home from Taiwan. Well, it has been a full week, now, since she arrived back in the U.S. and there has been one referral. And, for Holly and Rich---she is absolutely beautiful beyond measure!!!! For the rest of the waiting families, the news hasn't been so great. For Program III, there has been no more word of referrals. And, for Program II (which is the St. Lucy's orphanage program)--they received very disappointing news this week. Apparantly, JOH is not as high on the priority list as some other agencies, and those families waiting (some for 19 months already) may not see a referral for a very long time more. Our facilitator learned that JOH has been getting skipped all-together for referrals in that program unless there are more than 4 referrals in a given month. My heart goes out to those families who are hurting from this.

Hopefully, soon, there will be happy news to post! One wonderful bit of news is that Michelle and Byron, indeed, have a very beautiful, healthy and happy baby girl who loves her new family--and I got the opportunity to witness it with my own two eyes. That gives me great hope!!!

One day, our time will come. . . and in the meantime, we will be about our business, staying busy, living life and trying not to think too much about "when" the phone will ring. One day, our sweet girl will be home---and she will be worth the wait.

To the rest of my waiting friends----you are in my heart and prayers, right now. Thank you for reading.

Dear White family,
Thanks for the update. It was not the news we wanted but God is still on His throne and working together for good every thing that is hard to understand from this side of heaven. The adoption that I went through with my sister took 2 years. It was a wild roller coaster ride. Please know that I am on this crazy roller coaster with you in prayer no matter how much longer it takes. I wear my "Children of the World" bracelet and am beliving God for your precious daughter and baby sister and for loving homes for all the waiting orphans.
Love and hugs and prayers,

Hang in there hon! Ya know. one thing I keep telling myself is that when I was so close to just losing it last time waiting for Jeremiah to come home, that is when God did His miracle and the call came. Now we wait for Josiah to come home and well, same.. I think my patience was tweeked somehow.. DOG GONE IT! Anyways, hang in there, it is coming and I hope it comes soon sweetheart! I know the waiting game on any level is horrid and I am sorry for YOUR hurt!

That was such a heartfelt update and like you my heart aches for the Program 2 families and for all waiting families and children. Its so strange how this journey can leave you on different ends of the spectrum each & every day! What a ride!

From jubilation to frustration to despair ( hopefully not often!) back to hope, joy and patience. Sometimes its enough to just to know that others are sharing this path and thinking of you!! And I'm thinking of you today and every day!

I had high hopes for lots of referrals this month. I keep telling myself that Jan isn't over yet... Hoping for more good news to come so we can get a little closer to meeting our babies!

Please know you are not alone, that we feel for you when you hurt and rejoice when you have great news. I often think of those who are just waiting and aching to see their child's face. It hurts to know how our hands are tied. Know that your hurt is important too, take care of yourself... you are most loved and precious. I am cheering for you and excited for the day that news comes... and it WILL come. Sara.Sofa
